Graphic Design has many definitions and here is just one of the many. Graphic Design is
“The Design and make-up of printed material”.
Graphic Design is all around us in the form of printed material large and small. If you had no printed material then you would have no graphic design. Likewise if you had no websites then you would have no graphic design.

Word & Pictures used in an artistic, creative and dynamic way while still sucessfully getting information and message across clearly. Examples are:
1. Print Design such posters, books, magazines, business cards. shop signs
2. Screen Design such as websites, television, computer screens, mobile devices.
Anything where words and pictures come together in a dynamic way to enhance information or a message.

“Thought it was architect stuff” Great!

With much of the crap I see today – I don’t think most graphic designers know what it is either though.

2.49 – Obviously an educated chap, who knows what the childs going to become with a ‘Bruce’ like that.

6.08 – “Anyone can do it now – if you have a powerful enough computer” Now thats a classic.

Like anyone with a gun is a soldier.
Like anyone with a surfboard can surf.
Like anyone with a knife is a brain surgeon.
Like anyone with a pencil is an architect.

Its so simple.

Same as anyone who has a paint brush is an artist!

Much like people who call them selves designers when in fact they are artworkers… ’sigh’

People often forget the most important aspect: information design – the thing that helps them find toilets in the airport etc.

Graphic Designers are starving people who do their best to come out with a new concept and develpment and our bosses or Clients destroy that concept because they think their visual idea is good not knowing that we have been in the field for many years and we like a Police know all the stupid lines that clients or bosses tell us to do. It is frustrating to be a Graphic Designer. We should have an UNION OF DESIGNER
